Numerous Liberty Station restaurants are preparing samples of their finest offerings for the upcoming Bite of Point Loma event.
For the fifth consecutive year, local residents will have a unique opportunity to savor samples of fare that has made these eateries famous while enriching the academic lives of nearly 2,000 Point Loma High School students.
And besides the chance to tantalize your taste buds there will be entertainment and an auction to enhance the walking tour.
The event, which takes place Tuesday, May 1 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., is the major annual fundraiser for the Pointer Association, the nonprofit parent-teacher-student organization of PLHS.
Tickets are limited and can be purchased for $35 each at www.plhspa.org.
Participating restaurants this year include The Loma Club, Oggi’s, Pisco, Point Loma Tea, Poke 1-2-3, Slater’s 50/50, Fig Tree Cafe, Soda & Swine, Solare, Starbucks, Tender Greens and Vons.
An online auction is already underway at 32auctions.com. Up for grabs are such items as a $1,000 orthodontics certificate, reserved on-campus parking for the 2018-19 year, prime reserved seating for the upcoming PLHS graduation, an SAT Test preparation course, numerous restaurant gift cards, Padres and theater tickets, gift baskets, Calvin Klein sunglasses, hairstyling and more.
With a goal of $15,000, every cent raised from this event goes directly towards non-tax funded items including faculty grants, school projects, campus beautification and technology updates that could not happen otherwise.
Entertainment will be provided by PLHS students including musicians and the school choir.
