
The upcoming Big Dog Classic golf tournament is open to everyone, even if you aren’t a golfer. The sixth annual fundraiser for Point Loma High’s boys and girls golf teams is set for Oct. 5 at The Loma Club in Liberty Station and promises fun for all. Sponsored by the team boosters, the event begins with check-in for golfers at 2 p.m. and will last until well after dark with glow golf. There will also be on-course contests. Events for everyone include live music by SuperPoint and both silent and live auctions. La Tequiza will be on hand cooking up tacos along with an outdoor bar and beer cart. Also planned are bingo, drawings, games and prizes including the chance to win a trip to Pebble Beach in a hole-in-one contest. Event fees include golf and dinner for $75, bingo and dinner for $40, dinner only for $25 and bingo only for $20. Golfing begins at 3 p.m. with a shotgun start.
