A 64-year-old male bicyclist was walking or riding his bicycle northbound in the bike lane of Nimitz Boulevard about 10 p.m. on Sept. 6. The bicyclist was struck or sideswiped by possibly a white Nissan Versa or similar traveling northbound in No. 2 lane of Nimitz Boulevard. The vehicle fled the scene and the bicyclist was later found down on the ground by a passing motorist. He sustained an open pelvic fracture and several other major injuries.
