Matt Savage, a jazz pianist, will be in concert on May 15 at 3 p.m. at the Kensington Community Church, 4773 Marlborough Dr.
The free performance is sponsored by Edgeware Gallery, 4186 Adams Ave., which showcases work by disabled artists and is operated with the support of the Autism Research Institute.
Savage, 18, who is autistic, has performed at the Kennedy Center, Birdland and the New Orleans Jazz Festival. He has been featured on TV programs such as the “Late Show with David Letterman” and “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” and has played with jazz notables Dave Brubeck, McCoy Tyner and Chick Corea.
A wine and cheese reception at the Edgeware Gallery will follow the concert. Edgeware is debuting its latest show, entitled “Jazz” – paintings, drawings and photographs that are either jazz-related or jazz-inspired – from May 8-June 27. All net profits from art sales go to fund autism research.
