Music and art come together in a new monthly music series, Reverb, kicking off July 13 at the Thumbprint Gallery.
Set to feature solo and duo acoustic performers, the inaugural edition features Anna Zinova, best known as the frontperson for quirky indie rock-pop combo, Pinkeye. For this show she will provide the soundtrack for the opening night of the galleries new exhibition, “Architecting Happiness: New Works by Victorio Villa.” Fans of Pinkeye will no doubt love Zinova’s solo work, but pop or rock fans in general should give her a listen.
Stripped down to just voice and guitar, songs such as “Sun and Soil,” are wonderful examples of Zinova’s songcraft, the power in the song as much about the voice as the melody.
