In today’s mail I received a letter from Thella F. Bowens, President/CEO of the San Diego Regional Airport Authority telling me about the “progress with planned improvements” to the San Diego International Airport.
She is seeking my support for their next step. And how is she seeking my support? Enclosed with the letter is a questionnaire that states:
“YES, I support the Airport Master Plan EIR [environmental impact report], which includes ’10 new jet gates “¦ a dual-level roadway separating departing and arriving passengers “¦ a parking structure, etc.’ ”
Well, Ms. Bowens, I do not support this plan, but I fail to see any place on this questionnaire where I can respond “No” to your question. It is also interesting to note that the card to be sent back to her is a “postage paid” card. I can’t help wondering who is paying for the return of the cards that are all pre-marked “YES.”
I can see it now. Ms. Bowens will present to the public all of these returned cards saying “the citizens of San Diego WANT us to continue with the development of the airport because they all checked the “YES” box.
And the dishonesty continues on, and on, and on.
