The newest trend in working out may be in extravagance. With the opening of a new spa inside the La Jolla Sports Club, instead of the metaphorical carrot dangling in front of their faces, customers can now push themselves while working out ” knowing that, at the end of the session, many new options are now available.
“By the time they leave my hands, their whole perspective has changed,” said Cindy Parker, massage therapist at The Spa at La Jolla Sports Club, 7825 Fay Ave.
The club wanted to build a place where clients could have everything at one spot, Parker said.
“We have four massage therapists and four professional estheticians,” said Greg Toplitz, membership director. “They work in two new rooms we have added on; we call them the Ruby Room and the Emerald Room.
“One room is dedicated to just waxing and facials, and the other is for massage. Our massage therapists perform many massages, from deep-tissue to the hot stone massage, and we have added lines of skin creams for our customers who receive facials in the second room.”
The spa uses the new Epicuren line for some facials, including the lifting facial, while the MD facial line is for power peel facials.
Both members and non-members can enjoy the new services offered by the Spa at La Jolla Sports Club. Members receive a discounted rate, but all who wish can make appointments.
