Only beach area should vote on booze
Our City Council wants to put the alcohol ban on the November ballot. I would like to see the ballot initiative on the ballot only for the beach area, such as District 2.
Even though the rest of the city enjoys the beaches, they do not have to live with what happens at the beach, (the trash, vomiting, urine, fighting, crime, etc.) once they return home. These lovely consequences are left for the residents who choose to live near the beaches.
Drinking alcohol was a wonderful privilege given to the citizens of San Diego. Unfortunately, a few thousand ruined it for the rest. Since we cannot rely on people who party at the beaches to monitor their own behavior and that of their friends, the residents in each separate district have to take the action necessary to restore a hospitable way of life.

NoCal thanks SoCal firefighters
On behalf of Butte College, I’d like to thank those in your fire department who responded to the Humboldt Fire in Butte County. They not only saved Butte College from serious and devastating destruction, but they protected our communities we all live in.
Without their great efforts many more people would not have homes to return to, and much of our campus would not be available for providing education to those in our community. We’re very grateful for all of their help”¦they’re the greatest!
