I just read the Beacon from Nov. 27 and there was an article “OB Holiday Season begins with music and outreach.” It is a lovely article but gives the Ocean Beach MainStreet Association all the credit for the OB Food and Toy Drive. We do donate space at the OB Farmers Market, do the leg work for the restaurant walk and many of our merchants participate in all the holiday events, but the OB Town Council’s Tree Committee should get the lion’s share of the credit for putting on the holiday events that culminate in the Food and Toy Drive. The OB Town Council’s Tree Committee also is responsible for the fabulous OB Parade. Our Association happily assists with handing out parade applications and offering staff time to help with various projects. We are fortunate to have an office and staff and quite often people justifiably confuse the two organizations. I just wanted to make sure that the OB Town Council’s volunteers get the praise they deserve for all their hard work. Their website is OBTownCouncil.org.
