LINDA VISTA — Skateworld, the last remaining roller rink in the city of San Diego, is in danger of losing its lease. The San Diego Redevelopment Agency has a negotiation agreement with a private development company for the property on which Skateworld is located and the company has indicated that it plans to redevelop the property, so the future of Skateworld is uncertain. Those who don’t want to lose the lone remaining roller rink in the city are arranging a Support Skateworld Roller Rally for Wednesday, July 28 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Skateworld, 6907 Linda Vista Road. Free admission and skate rental is being offered to all who attend. Organizers are asking participants to bring signs and banners and to skate inside the rink as well as out on the sidewalks during the event. Skateworld has been in Linda Vista for nearly 35 years.
