A suspected DUI driver who had her 3-year-old child in the back seat when she allegedly struck a jogger in Pacific Beach, then hit a parked car before being arrested, is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 23 in a downtown courtroom.
Amanda Mae Brodd, 26, was driving a Kia sedan on Crown Point Drive near Sequoia Street about 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 15 when she drove onto the sidewalk and hit a 23-year-old man, who suffered a broken pelvis and leg, police said.
Brodd drove away, but shortly after hit a parked car on Lamont Street near Crown Point Drive, disabling her vehicle, according to police.
Witnesses held Brodd at the scene until officers arrived and arrested her. Her child was unhurt. Brodd posted $100,000 bail and was ordered to return to court Feb. 23. – City News Service
