I oppose the sick leave and minimum wage increase sought by councilmember [Todd] Gloria. The perceived gain wage earners effected by this proposal will be short-lived as prices on goods and services in San Diego will jump up to negate it.
Socialism does not work in the long term. Capitalism does. Let the free market system work for workers like it did for me. If I did not like the low wage and no sick leave offered by my employer, I changed jobs!
[Councilmember Sherri Lightner says] that many people don’t have that option because they have kids or whatever. They should have thought about their income before they had the kids. I did!
