Members of the National Organization for Women, the League of Women Voters and the Women’s History Museum will gather with the public today at noon at City Hall to reveal a brand new exhibiti, Salute to Suffrage. The display celebrates the 90th anniversary of the adoptin of the 19th amendment, which gave women in the United States the right to vote and hold public office. The amendment was ratified Aug. 18, 1920. The Women’s History Center will hold several more events to commemorate the suffrage movement, including a Suffrage Parade at Balboa Park on Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. and The Suffrage Ball at the historic Lafayette Hotel on Aug. 28 at 6 p.m. For more information, visit www.whmec.org.
