
Duke’s La Jolla has unveiled its lunch and Pau Hana menus, which celebrate the melting pot of cultures and cooking techniques of Hawaii and California. Available daily between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., the lunch menu offers an array of locally sourced food choices amid respect for traditions and a serious focus on all-natural ingredients and seasonal products Shareworthy plates include the Korean Sticky Ribs and Poke Tacos with shoyu, Maui onions and avocado and wasabi crème fraiche. For those looking for something light and refreshing, Duke’s offers salads such as the Grilled Gem Lettuce Caesar, featuring shaved parmesan, grilled baguette and lemon-anchovy dressing, or the Wedge, made with baby iceberg, smoked blue cheese, balsamic tomatoes, chicharrones and Duroc bacon. Signature dishes include the Roasted Firecracker Fish and Kalbi Short Rib Tacos served with a side of SPAM fried rice.
From 3 to 5 p.m. daily, everyone is welcome to enjoy Pau Hana, the post-work time in Hawaii, when friends and family gather together to relax and tell stories. Specials include Fried Bourbon Pickles with red curry ranch, Lomi Salmon Tacos with wasabi crème fraiche and Daily Crudo. Draft beers are available for $5; barrel-to-glass wine and the Duke’s Mai Tai are $7.
