Of the dogs and puppies flown in from a Louisiana shelter last week, more than 30 will be available for adoption today at San Diego Humane Society’s San Diego Campus, 5500 Gaines St.
A Wings of Rescue flight transferred these pets to San Diego Humane Society, Rancho Coastal Humane Society and Labradors and Friends from Acadiana Animal Aid to create space for pets who were being evacuated from Texas and Louisiana when Hurricane Harvey made landfall last week. These pets are not direct victims of Hurricane Harvey. They are highly adoptable dogs who were in animal shelters in the Lafayette area. They do not have owners who will be searching for them.
All adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and sent home with a certificate for a free veterinary exam, 30 days of worry-free pet insurance from Trupanion and his/her first bag of food from Purina. These pets, who are awaiting adoption can be found at https://sdhumane.org/how-you-can-help/adopt/available-pets/. These pets are only available for adoption at San Diego Humane Society’s San Diego Campus, 5500 Gaines St., San Diego. Adoption hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week. Adoptions are on a first come, first served basis. Adopters who anticipate adopting should bring a hard-sided carrier to safely bring the dog, puppy or cat home.
