Calling all local gardeners. Pacific Beach needs them to help out with the inaugural PB Fall Harvest, a fundraiser benefiting beautifulPB and promoting urban agriculture.
BeautifulPB is a volunteer group of Pacific Beach residents, business and property owners striving to improve the beach community’s environment.
“We are collecting fruits, veggies and herbs from local residents and public gardens to make a custom five-course family-style dinner at Turquoise Cellars on Sunday, Oct. 11,” said Mike Spangler of Spangler Event Productions, the new event’s creator.
Spangler said dinner cost for participants is $95 a ticket. The price includes a hosted happy hour, tableside champagne toast, five-course family-style dinner designed by Chef Taylor of Turquoise Cellars and unlimited wine and beer paring during dinner.
“One hundred percent of the net proceeds go to beautifulPB,” said Spangler, a newly elected beautifulPB board member. “If we sell out, I hope to raise more than $2,500,” he added.
Spangler pointed out this is a chance for residents to step up and directly contribute to their community.
“There has been a lot of local chatter on what beautifulPB does in the community, and this is also a great opportunity to let everybody know exactly what we do, how we do it and how it is financed,” he said.
