Sami Misleh of University City Boy Scout Troop 271 presents a box of books and school supplies to Pamela Hansen, program director of the San Diego Center for Children, on Aug. 31. Misleh decided to collect donations for the center as his service project for the rank of “Life.” He passed out fliers around the community asking for donations of school supplies and new or gently used sports equipment for the troubled youngsters and teens at the San Diego Center for Children. UC residents and fellow scouts donated several boxes of goods, including a skateboard, scooter and unicycle.
