Whimsical carved and painted gourds by Tito Medina from Peru make a colorful display at the St. James Art of Latin America Festival, Aug. 8-10 at St. James Gift Shop, 743 Prospect St.
Carved wood animals from Oaxaca, Mexico were also featured, and dancers performed the Danza del Los Viejitos, a traditional folk dance from Michoacan, Mexico, on the steps of St. James by-the-Sea Episcopal Church.
Proceeds from the event’s Aug. 8 reception and silent auction were donated to a school and foster home in Tijuana.
