The La Jolla Art & Wine Festival will host its 11th annual celebration from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Oct. 12-13 along La Jolla’s Girard Avenue. This free event has something for everyone to enjoy with 160 artists, 30 wineries and breweries, gourmet food, live music, a silent auction, and a family art center.
The festival features a collection of internationally recognized talent, as well as fresh up and coming artists soon to be discovered! The dynamic and selective group of artists represent a variety of mediums, such as painting, sculpture, jewelry design, fine glass, ceramics, woodwork, mixed media, and photography.
In addition to exceptional art, LJAWF’s FINE Wine & Beer Garden is another annual favorite. Stop by this iconic venue within the festival to taste boutique wines from highly regarded wine regions from around the world, including France, Italy, Valle de Guadalupe, and more! Enthusiasts can also enjoy sips of delectable Spirits from Boochcraft, Seven Caves Distillery, Henebery Whiskey, among others. For our beer lovers, ample tastes from internationally renowned as well as local craft breweries such as Karl Strauss, Pizza Port, and Novo Brazil (just to name a few), will please any hop-centric palate. Tasting tickets are $5 for one ticket and $20 for five tickets.
The festival is also known for its gourmet food. Delectable bites will be served by Hawaiian Honey Cones, Puesto, Valley Farms Market, and other local favorites.
Kids will love all the exciting attractions at Geppetto’s Family Art Center. From painting a car to building 3D models, to face painting, and dozens of other creative activities, the fun is endless and sure to inspire the budding artist.
And what’s a festival without previous pets? Find your soulmate in a furry friend at the third annual Sip N’ Drool adoption event at various locations throughout the festival. A map will be provided to assist with finding your pet companion.
LJAWF wouldn’t be complete without its two-day Silent Auction. New this year, the auction will be hosted in-person and online, meaning bidders can browse, bid, and buy items remotely. It will feature unique and high-end auction items such as art, trips, resorts, spas, fine-dining, local services, and more. The festival hopes to raise over $30,000 for underfunded programs at each of the five La Jolla public schools.
Over the years, the LJAWF has expanded through the quaint streets of the village of La Jolla and has grown to be one of the most prestigious art and wine festivals in Southern California. For more information visit ljawf.com or call McFarlane Promotions, Inc. at 619-233-5008.
