Three out of the four drivers involved in a Dec. 18 chain of collisions in the Point Loma area were hospitalized, police said. A 26-year-old man driving a 2008 Chevrolet shuttle van north on Nimitz Boulevard turned left at Atascadero Drive and hit a southbound auto driven by a 52-year-old woman. The back end of the sedan swung around upon impact and hit a vehicle driven by a 42-year-old man, also headed south on Nimitz Boulevard. Another southbound vehicle then hit that auto in the rear. Three out of the four drivers were taken to a local hospital to treat a variety of injuries.
