Members of the Peninsula Community Planning Board are hoping that by the time the dust clears Saturday, four vacant seats will have been filled by voters ” possibly in a daylong affair.
Those planning to vote in the Peninsula Community Planning Board run-off elections on Saturday, June 9, should bring proof of eligibility in the form of a picture identification, business license or other documents establishing residency or ownership of property in Point Loma, according to board member Kathryn Rhodes.
The PCPB will hold the run-off election at the Point Loma/Hervey Branch Library, 3701 Voltaire St., starting at 9 a.m.
As of May 25, eight candidates remain on the ballot.
The first round of the run-off election will run from 9 to 11 a.m., with a vote count immediately following from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. The candidate or candidates who receive a majority vote will be added to the board and crossed off the ballot.
The second round of elections runs from noon to 2 p.m., with a count immediately following. The third and final round of elections for the day will run from 3 to 5 p.m., with a vote count from 5 to 6 p.m., according to an e-mail distributed by Gregg Robinson, acting chair of the board.
If candidates cannot garner a majority vote, the election will continue to the board’s next meeting June 21, Robinson said.
An election forum is scheduled for Thursday, June 7, at the Loma Riviera Club house, 3115 Riviera Drive, at 6 p.m. The forum will be an opportunity for residents to discover more about the elections and the candidates, board member Geoff Page said at the meeting on Friday, May 25.
