Mission Bay High – The Mission Bay High School Preservationists are going to perform in New Orleans and are holding a fundraising concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17 with the Queen of Boogie Woogie Piano, Sue Palmer, at the Pacific Beach Woman’s Club, 1721 Hornblend St. Tickets are $10 at the door.
– The MBHS Aquatics Program is holding Bingo Night at the VFW, 853 Turquoise St., 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 19. Join friends and neighbors at the VFW for bingo, food, drinks and great prizes. $10 at the door. All proceeds go to the MBHS Aquatics Program. Pacific Beach Middle – The PBMS IB Music Department will have its annual St. Patty’s Pancake Breakfast 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 19 in the lunch court. Join IB music director John O’Donnell and his talented students for all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, juice, coffee and milk. Tickets will be sold the morning of the event for $5, and all proceeds directly benefit PBMS’ IB Music Department. PB Elementary – PBE is gearing up for its annual spring auction event, Monday, March 14 through Monday, March 21 at pbe.schoolauction.net/solidgold.
You may also purchase tickets on this site to the Solid Gold event on Friday, April 22 at the Soledad Club. PBES is still looking for local sponsors and donations. Email to:[email protected] to contribute. All proceeds directly benefit students and will help fund current science, music, PE and art programs. FOPBE
n Friends of Pacific Beach Elementary parent meeting, 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, in the library. Kate Sessions 
– The Friends of Kate Sessions Elementary School online auction closes at 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 15. The first 50 people to place a bid will be entered to win a $25 gift card to Hammond’s Ice Cream. For more, see friendsofkatesessions.schoolauction.net/2016.
– Luau tickets are on sale now. The party will take place at 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, March 19 at Mission Bay Yacht Club. There will be a DJ, luau-themed buffet, auction items and a no-host bar. Enjoy a fun night out and support the programs at Kate Sessions. Purchase your tickets by March 15 for $25 a person online.

– On March 1 at Sessions Elementary School, military personnel from Naval Base Point Loma visited the school and proudly celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday with the students. Nearly 25 military personnel were on campus to read Dr. Seuss books in classrooms. In addition, the Sessions PTO generously donated Dr. Seuss books to every student in the school. – 8 a.m. March 11 is Coffee with the Principal. Mission Bay Cluster
– The Pacific Beach Rubik’s Cube Team presented at the Mission Bay Cluster meeting last week. These eight amazing students solved 25 Rubik’s Cubes in under five minutes. Team members are fourth and fifth graders Luke Bercham, Brendan Dunphy, Fieldin Schmitz, Gavin Marzion, Jack Circuit, Sienna Gustafson, Sophia Sidell, Kai Lehr and Llian Kerch. The team will be participating in the Super STEM Saturday at Cal State San Marcos Saturday, March 12.
