Jewish Day School Fair offers information
The San Diego Jewish Day School Fair will be held this Sunday, Nov. 4, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, 4126 Executive Drive.
Five Jewish Day Schools will present information on their programs for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The Agency for Jewish Education and the United Jewish Federation are also involved.
This year the fair takes place in conjunction with Family Day at the San Diego Jewish Book Fair.
The San Diego Jewish Day School Fair is free, and no RSVP is necessary. For information, call (858) 268-9200, ext. 121, or visit www.ajesd.org.

Muirlands MS will host Holiday Boutique
Muirlands Middle School will hold its third annual Holiday Luncheon Boutique next Thursday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event features 20 vendors selling everything from candles and jewelry to art, tableware, clothing, handbags and silk flowers. Vendors will donate 15 percent of all sales to the Muirlands Foundation, which has paid for computers, supplies, campus beautification, textbooks, lockers and more, including salaries for a nurse, a librarian and a computer technician.
The boutique includes a salad buffet and raffle, and takes place at La Jolla Country Club.
Tickets are $40, and can be purchased at the school or by calling (858) 459-4151 or (858) 459-3084.

School throws big to-do
Those seeking a different kind of education will rejoice when the San Diego French-American School hosts an Open House on Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 9 to 10:30 a.m., at its campus at 6550 Soledad Mountain Road.
“Parents of prospective students will have the opportunity to learn more about the benefits of a bilingual curriculum in French and English, and they will be able to tour the campus,” said Virginia Berracasa, the school’s communications and admissions officer.
The event is geared toward parents of preschool children, as well as kindergartners through eighth-graders, and will afford the opportunity to visit classrooms, observe teachers and more.
“At the Open House, we will explain how we prepare our students to enter either an American high school or a French lyce’e, after the eighth grade,” Berracasa said. “With our dual-language curriculum, we can educate the students in both languages.”
For information or to make reservations for the open house, call (858) 456-2807, ext. 306.

Bishop’s reschedules Open House
The Bishop’s School has rescheduled its Admissions Open House for Saturday, Nov. 10. It was postponed due to last week’s wildfires.
Prospective students and their parents are invited to tour the school and talk with teachers and current students during the event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Bishop’s School is located at 7607 La Jolla Blvd. For information call Joy Davis, (858) 459-4021, ext. 244, or visit www.bishops.com.
