Contact [email protected]. • As a result of the contributions of families and community members, the Friends of Kate Sessions was able to bring in the Monart School of the Arts to provide an 11-week drawing workshop entitled “World Travel.” Students in grades K-5 will receive instruction based on the fundamental belief that drawing is a teachable skill at which everyone can be successful.   PB ELEMENTARY • Oct. 19: Lamb’s Player’s Theatre “BASH” assembly for students to address the issues of bullying, boredom and peer pressure, and highlight the values of cooperation and community. • October 22 – 26: Red Ribbon Week. Positive messages for students about the dangers of drug use.      CROWN POINT JMA • Picture Day, Oct. 16 • Oct. 22 – 25: Red Ribbon Spirit Week. Monday — shade out drugs (wear your sunglasses); Tuesday — Zumba your way to a healthy way of life (wear the color red); Wednesday — team up against drugs (wear your favorite team outfit) Thursday — kick drugs to the curb (wear your craziest socks); and Friday — scare drugs away by wearing your Halloween costume to school. Join CPJMA for an evening of carnival games, haunted house, food and candy. Call the school office for more information at (858) 273-9830.   FOBSS Friends of PB Secondary Schools (FOPBSS) will hold its monthly meeting on Oct. 24 at 6 p.m. at the PB Middle Library. The FOPBSS board consists of principals, teachers and parents who designate grants to teachers, campus improvements, athletics and academics.  We will also discuss events and volunteer opportunities at each school and have presentations from PB Middle principal Ernie Remillard and Mission Bay High principal Fred Hilgers.
