There is no better example of someone who has an innate passion for the beautiful game than San Diego Sockers2 player and Rancho Bernardo High School soccer head coach Dallin Cutler.

Finding a balance with his personal and professional life has kept the 28-year-old focused on what brings him joy both on and off the pitch.

“Family life is incredible and my priorities are definitely shifting,” said Cutler. “I have a loving, incredible wife, and a cute little 2-year old son, Luka, who is already kicking the ball around and is a lefty.”

Cutler started making a name for himself back in 2016 when he helped lead the San Diego State men’s soccer team to their first NCAA tournament appearance in 10 years all while garnering Pac-12 All-Academic First Team honors (a feat he would repeat in 2017). He then moved on to play in the National Premier Soccer League for ASC San Diego leading the team to a 9-2-1 record and earning them the top seed in their conference after taking the league by storm with 14 assists and two goals.

In 2019, Cutler competed in the National Independent Soccer Association with 1904 FC where he would become a mainstay for the team until the end of last season, and also served duties as assistant head coach, before moving on to the San Diego Sockers organization after connecting with their head of soccer operations Alex Monnar.

“I met Alex Monnar out of college and we have stayed in touch over the years,” Cutler added. “He reached out to me after my season with 1904 FC and offered to help me come back from the injury I was struggling with. I can’t speak highly enough about Alex and his professionalism.”

Among Cutler’s most recent accolades is being named CIF Division 1 Coach of the Year after his alma mater, Rancho Bernardo High School, made it all the way to the finals last season having won the championship his first two years as head coach.

“Coaching really has taken priority recently and has taken up a lot of my time, but I always do a good job of taking care of my body and staying fit,” said Cutler. “Soccer is my whole life right now, from playing to coaching. It’s not difficult to stay match fit when you’re constantly in that environment.”

As for what the future holds for Cutler time can only tell, but you can expect it to bright and with a soccer ball right by his side.
