The fall Grassroots and Competitive divisions of the Crusaders Soccer Club are well into their 52nd fall season.

We are very pleased to announce we have two corporate sponsors for our 2022 Grassroots fall season: DIRECTV and 24 Hour Fitness.

One of the girls 2009/2010 teams was invited by 24 Hour Fitness to attend the WAVE vs North Carolina women’s soccer game on Sept. 30 at the new Snapdragon Stadium. The players and their families had a great time enjoying the game from one of the stadium suites (pictured above).

Thanks to more than 125 volunteer coaches and division coordinators, and an experienced cadre of professional coaches for our competitive teams, over a thousand boys and girls are playing soccer in maroon and grey uniforms as they run up and down the fields dribbling a soccer ball from 9 in the morning until 5 in the evening. All our Grassroots games are on Saturdays through Nov. 19. Stop by and take a few minutes to enjoy a youth soccer game. You are also invited to watch our Competitive teams play on most Sundays at Pershing Middle School and Lower Lewis adjacent to the Allied Gardens Recreation Center.

Normally all our Grassroots/Recreational games are within our community. For our fall season, we were asked to participate in the I-15 Corridor League for our teams with players born between 2009 and 2012. We have 15 teams participating and they are playing games in seven different communities adjacent to I-15 in San Diego County.

The Crusaders Soccer Club recently sponsored a special college night for parents and competitive players with college interests. The presentation was made by Renato Capobianco, head soccer coach for Regis College in Boston, Mass.

Capobianco discussed the intricacies of placing and coaching players in college and specifically the role of the parents in successfully guiding their child when he or she is interested in playing soccer at the collegiate level. Capobianco was a collegiate standout at SDSU and has 30 years of experience ranging from the U.S. team administrator in the 1994 World Cup, as a MLS assistant coach and he has a strong background in youth development and college placement.
