A very successful 2022 fall season for the Crusaders Soccer Club’s Grassroots and Competitive programs are drawing to a close.

There remain many opportunities in the coming weeks available to all youth soccer players.

On Nov. 19-20, the first Crusaders Soccer Invitational Tournament will be held for teams which participated in this falls’ Grassroots I-15 Corridor League which includes teams from seven different soccer clubs. The tournament will feature divisions for both boys and girls with birth years of 2009/2010 and 2010/2011. Each team will play a minimum of three games with a final game in each division on Sunday afternoon.

All youth soccer players born between 2009 and 2016 will have an opportunity to participate in 3-day soccer camps the week before Thanksgiving and the week between Christmas and New Years’. The camps will feature soccer skill training for competitive and grassroots players plus a special camp for goalies. You do not have to be a currently registered member of the Crusaders Soccer Club to register for the camps. The overall skill camps will be from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Nov. 21, 22 and 23 and Dec. 27, 28 and 29. The goalie camp will be from 11:30 to 1 on the same days. For more information and to register for any of the camps, go to crusaderssoccer.org.

On December 4, all registered Crusaders Soccer Grassroots players born between 2009 and 2016 will have an opportunity to try out for an All-Star team. The teams will again participate in the Escondido Soccer Club’s New Years’ Kick Off Tournament at Ryan Field in Escondido on Jan. 7-8, 2023. For more information, go to the Crusaders Soccer website at crusaderssoccer.org.

Competitive team tryouts for players born between 2014 and 2017 will be held on Dec. 5 and 10 at the Pershing Middle School fields. You do not have to me a member of the Crusaders Soccer Club to tryout, for a competitive team. Go to crusaderssoccer.org/tryouts for more information and to register for the tryouts.

Mark your calendar for Dec. 1 to have dinner at Rubio’s Coastal Grill located at Friars Road and Mission Gorge Road in Grantville between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. The Crusaders Soccer Club’s Boys 2010 team, coached by Albert Gonzalez, is holding a fundraising event. 30% of proceeds (excluding sales tax) will be donated to Coach Albert’s team to help them raise money for an upcoming soccer tournament. If you order online or through Rubio’s mobile app on Dec. 1, be sure to enter the promo code “Donate”.

Registration for the Crusaders Soccer Club’s spring Grassroots season will open on Dec. 15. Register by 11:55 p.m. on Dec. 31 to receive an early registration discount. Practice will begin in February and eight games will be played on Sundays from March 5 through April 30, with no games on Easter Sunday.

We also want to again thank our Grassroots Team Sponsors: 24 Hour Fitness and DIRECTV.
