Craft beer speakeasy to benefit those affected by Alpine Wildfire

Barons Market, at 4001 W. Point Loma Blvd., will serve up four brews courtesy of Thorn Street Brewing at its next Backroom Beer Pairing on July 25. Barons’ seven Southern California grocery stores host these events to gather the community around curated bite and brew menus in their stockrooms-turned-speakeasies. Proceeds from the often sell-out crowds benefit local organizations bringing food and resources to families throughout Southern California.
To join this modern day speakeasy, head to one of Barons Market’s seven Southern California locations from 6 to 8 p.m. on July 25. Tickets will sell out, so purchase yours for $15 today.
“Thorn Street Brewing and Barons Market both share a passion for positively impacting the local neighborhoods where we come to work every day,” says Rachel Shemirani, vice president of marketing for Barons. “We’re proud to give back to communities in need through our Backroom Beer Pairing, where everyone can find their new favorite craft brew or snack.”
The Barons Backroom Beer Pairings donate 100 percent of proceeds from its seven locations to a local charity making a difference in its communities. This month, the family-owned market chose Feeding San Diego and Feeding America Riverside San Bernardino Counties as the beneficiaries, which serve some of the largest food insecure areas in Barons’ communities. Special to this beer pairing, Barons will donate all proceeds from its Alpine location to those affected by the West Fire in Alpine on July 6.  In 2017, Barons raised more than $26,592 for local organizations through its quarterly pairings.
Barons Market’s flavor experts and Thorn Street Brewing’s talented brewers paired up to create an array of menu items for this event.
Rock the Pale Ale: a traditional, California-style pine and citrus pale ale paired with spicy Thai chicken lettuce wraps.
Hopster Pot: a tropical and juicy New England-style India Pale Ale paired with summer shrimp ceviche.
Barrio Lager: a smooth summer Baja lager beer guaranteed to refresh paired with sausage, pepper and onion rolls.
Relay IPA: a San Diego IPA infused with citrus, mango, grapefruit and pine paired with carrot cheesecake.
