Concerts on the Green again ready for summer sizzle at Kate Sessions

Kate Sessions Park will again be the site of family fun and interaction with live music performances during the Concerts on the Green series.
A bonus, of course, is the spectacular views extending from Mission Bay to downtown San Diego. Concerts on the Green at Kate Sessions Park is now in its 12th season. The summer event is sponsored by the Concerts Committee and the Pacific Beach Community Foundation.
The 2014 season kicks off Sunday, July 20 at 4 p.m. and features The Jackstones performing Americana, alternative country and classic rock ’n’ roll.
Then, on July 27, get ready for features Three Chord Justice, a premier country band, winner of the 2010 KSON Big Country Showdown.
Following that, on Aug. 3, the Siers Bros. are set to take the stage, performing sounds of the Allman Brothers, The Beatles, The Texas Tornados and their own original material.
Finally, on Aug. 10, Theo and The Zydeco Patrol will perform. This is not just another blues band, according to event organizers. The band combines the blues with southwest Louisiana Cajun and Zydeco music.
Guests are invited to bring blankets, chairs, small umbrellas and picnic baskets (no alcoholic beverages) and plan to spend a Sunday afternoon in the park listening to music, dancing and meeting up with friends and neighbors. All concerts will run from 4 to 6 p.m.
This season’s concerts are being co-sponsored by The Patio on Lamont Street. However, The Community Foundation is still in need of donations and sponsors to ensure the continuance of this popular, free community event. Help at any sponsorship level is greatly appreciated by community organizers. All donations will be recognized online and in concert programs and/or newspaper ads and banners.
The following sponsorship opportunities are available:
• Series sponsor — $5,000 or more
• Exclusive concert sponsor — $3,000
• Concert co-sponsor — $1,500
• Founder — $1,000
• Partner — $500
• Fan — $250
• Friend — $100
• Donor — $25 to $99
Those interested in sponsoring the concert series can mail checks payable to: Pacific Beach Community Foundation/Con-certs, P.O. Box 99925 San Diego, 92169.
