Candidates running for San Diego city attorney will be in the area twice next week, at La Jolla and University City high schools.
Beginning Tuesday, May 13 at 6 p.m., all five candidates ” incumbent Mike Aguirre and challengers Jan Goldsmith, Amy Lepine, Brian Maienshein and Scott Peters ” will meet at La Jolla High, and then Wednesday, May 14, the candidates will meet at University City High, starting at 6:30 p.m.
The May 13 debate is sponsored by the Bird Rock Community Council, La Jolla Light, La Jolla Shores Association, La Jolla Town Council and Promote La Jolla.
The next night in University City, all the candidates will meet inside the University City High School auditorium. The May 14 debate will be moderated by the League of Women Voters and is co-sponsored by the University City Community Association and La Jolla Village News. Each candidate will speak for two minutes to lay out his or her plan for the city attorney’s office, then answer written questions from the audience. For information call Sandy Lippe, (858) 453-2387.
La Jolla High is located at 750 Nautilus St. University City High is located at 6949 Genesee Ave.
