Liz Greene Camarena, creative director at Ocean Beach MainStreet Association since 2010 and a former Ocean Beach interior designer, has resigned her position for an opportunity in property management in Cedar City, Utah. She and her husband Roger will be leaving Ocean Beach at the end of May.
“The opportunity came up quickly,” association executive director Denny Knox said, “and they had to make a decision. I don’t want to sound like a big crybaby, but we’ll miss her, because she did so much in this office. And this office is pretty small, so we know each other pretty well.”
Meanwhile, OBMA invites inquiries into Camarena’s replacement. Job requirements include a working knowledge of Microsoft’s software suite and other email list programs; knowledge of Photoshop, CorelDraw and/or InDesign is a plus. The ideal candidate must be a proficient writer, be able to lift 40 pounds, be able to work on evening or weekend events, be a proficient recordkeeper and have a valid driver license and insurance. The candidate will demonstrate skill in marketing and promotional events and programs to support businesses throughout the community and manage ongoing programs and online sales of merchandise. He or she will have a background in digital marketing to aid in promoting programs through the OBMA website, social media, email lists and search-engine optimization. The candidate will also be accountable for managing OBMA’s online store and the maintenance of inventory and have an appreciation for the community. OBMA, founded in 1978, consists of more than 500 neighborhood business owners who support and serve on various committees designed to promote the commerce and integrity of Ocean Beach. It was an integral part of the 2012 events that marked the neighborhood’s 125th anniversary.
To apply for the creative director position, send a resume to [email protected]. The subject line must read, “Marketing and Special Projects Position.”
