LEE’S GENERAL
Jonathan Ferrini has been named founding principal of the La Jolla/UC office of Lee & Associates, 3262 Holiday Ct. Ferrini will handle sale and leasing of industrial, office and flex properties at the new office.

Assessor reminds of possible adjustments
County Assessor Gregory J. Smith is reminding property owners that their property taxes may decrease if the property’s market value as of Jan. 1, 2006, has fallen below the assessed value.
The assessed value can be found in the upper right-hand corner of the 2006-2007 tax bill.
Property owners who believe their property is over-assessed must file an Assessment Appeals Application form with the clerk of the Board of Supervisor’s office no later than Thursday, Nov. 30. There is no fee for the service.
The form can be found online at www. http://www.sdcoun
ty.ca.gov/cob/aab. Property owners can also call (619) 531-5777 for forms.
The assessor’s office also reminds property owners that they may be solicited by a private business to lower their tax rate for a substantial fee, but there is no charge if property owners fill out the form themselves.

Public can review draft MND for UCSD project
A draft Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) was made available for public review as of Tuesday, Oct. 31, for a proposed project on the West Campus of the University of California San Diego.
A draft initial study was already conducted for the project, which consists of constructing a 184,000-gross-square-foot building at the southwest corner of the intersection of Voigt Drive and Matthew Lane for a structural engineering workshop, structural and materials engineering offices, and visual arts laboratories.
In September, the UC regents determined the project would not have a significant effect on the environment. The UCSD physical planning department will gather public comments on the draft initial study, the draft MND and the notice of availability through Dec. 1.
To view the documents, visit http://physicalplanning.ucsd.edu/pub_notice.html. Comments may be mailed no later than 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, to Catherine Presmyk, UCSD Physical Planning, 9500 Gilman Drive, MC 0074, La Jolla, CA 92093-0074.
For more information, or for any questions regarding the project, contact Presmyk, (858) 534-3860.
