Funds go a long way
The Josephine Stedem Scripps Foundation recently bestowed a gift of $25,000 on the Torrey Pines Association (TPA) for renovation of its docent library, which is located inside the Lodge at the Torrey Pines State Reserve, 16500 N. Torrey Pines Road.
“We remodeled the library, and it was very effective use of the funds,” said Pat Masters, president of the TPA Board. “It was definitely a successful renovation of a very important facility, which is used for all their activities, meetings and other activities of our nonprofit organization.”
The TPA’s mission is to support and encourage public interest in the Torrey Pines State Reserve, while the docent library serves as a primary resource for rangers, teachers, researchers and staff
“We are moving into an area where the Scripps Family Foundation is interested to funding more specific projects,” Masters said. “This was the first successful project, and we are very proud of the beautiful new library.”
