LA JOLLA — The Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institute of Oceanography has presented a new, live high-definition webcam that gives viewers an underwater view of La Jolla’s coast and also a chance to watch weekly dive shows in which divers feed the aquarium’s animals and discuss the kelp forest’s role in the ocean’s health. The webcam shows views of leopard sharks, garibaldi, eels, barracuda, giant sea bass and more within the 70,000-gallon tank, letting viewers de-stress to the swaying of towering kelp. Dive shows take place at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2 p.m. on Saturdays and 10:30 a.m. on Sundays. Visit the webcam live at http://aquarium.ucsd.edu.
