San Diego historical fiction author Susan Meissner will be releasing a heartfelt new novel this March, titled, “The Last Year of the War.” Meissner is known to capture pivotal moments in history that not only make for emotional, page-turning stories but also deepen our understanding of the world we live in now. “The Last Year of the War,” told from the point-of-view of a 14-year-old German-American girl during WWII, shines a light on the U.S. government’s little-known repatriation program the war, while also resonating with timely questions about what it means to be an American. Messiner will hold a book signing on Monday, March 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Warwick’s, 7812 Girard Ave.
