Donna Turner, social media coach, will speak on “Social Media: Getting the Word Out There” on Saturday, June 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. during the art exhibition, Visual Variations, at La Jolla Art Association gallery, 8100 Paseo del Ocaso, Suite B. She will give two talks, one at 5:30 p.m. and again at 6:15 p.m. In addition, an artists’ reception will be held at the gallery on Thursday, June 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information or reservations for the Turner’s presenation, call (858) 459-1196.  The Art of Penelope G. Vining will be featured at the La Jolla Pannikin for the month of June. The Pannikin is located at 7467 Girard Ave. For more information, call (858) 459-1065. Artist Jennyfer Stratman will open a new show at Contemporary Fine Arts Gallery with a reception on June 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. Stratman’s show, titled “Interconnection,” features three-dimensional sculptures of copper, bronze, aluminum, wood, pigments and recycled materials.  The work, Stratman said, explores the connectedness of humanity and the natural world. The La Jolla Art Association will be hosting an art reception, “Nothin’ but the Blues,” on Sunday, June 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. Through a serendipitous meeting with singer Lady Dottie at Croce’s in downtown San Diego, artist Judy Judy Judy arranged for live entertainment from Lady Dottie and her piano man, Joe Guevara, at the opening reception. The exhibition runs through June 16. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. The gallery is located at 8100 Paseo Del Ocaso. Call (858) 459-1196 for more information.
