Ocean Beach art walk event slated Sunday
The Ocean Beach People’s Market is hosting a festive, sidewalk art/sale and food tasting event on Sunday, Aug. 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Voltaire Street.
Local artists will feature their wares outside the farmer’s market, including paintings by Kathy Law, Michael Archer, Augusto Sandroni, Colleen Timmons and Weston Riffle.
Visitors should also look out for surprising batiks by Dan Drea, assemblages by James Watts, prints by Scott Saw and photography from the youth refugee program The Aja Project.
The Ocean Beach People’s Organic Food Co-Op will be selling their usual organic produce, bulk foods and herbs throughout the day from their location at 4765 Voltaire St.

Point Loma library exhibit continues until Aug. 31
Residents currently have an opportunity to attend a historical exhibit at the Hervey/Point Loma Branch Library that showcases local naval contributions.
The exhibit, “Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego ” Since 1940 On Point and at the Center of C4ISR” is the theme of the center’s presentation.
The library is located at 2130 Poinsettia Dr. Library hours are: Sundays 1 to 5 p.m.; Mondays 12:30 to 8 p.m.; Tuesdays 9:30 a.m. to 5:30; Wednesdays 12:30 to 8 p.m.; Thursdays 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm.; Fridays 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.; and Saturdays 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

SD Choral Club currently accepting new members
The San Diego Choral Club is accepting new members through Sept. 11 for the fall season.
The all-women’s singing group rehearses each Tuesday evening, from 7 to 8:45 p.m., at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1370 Euclid Ave. (the club is not affiliated with the church).
The first rehearsal is Tuesday, Aug. 21, 7 p.m.
San Diego Choral Club sings a wide range of three- and four-part music, from pop to classical, and welcomes all levels of experience.
The fall season culminates in a series of holiday concerts performed primarily at retirement homes throughout San Diego.
