Parents and the public are invited to join the Prevent Drowning Foundation of San Diego and the San Diego Junior Lifeguards for the annual SDJG Pier Jump on Monday, July 11. This event is a fundraiser and the only time jumping from the Ocean Beach Pier is allowed.
Space is limited to the first 100 people (18 and older) for each jump session (8 a.m. and noon). Proceeds from this event benefit the Prevent Drowning Foundation of San Diego’s efforts to provide SDJG scholarships and free swimming lessons for underserved youth in San Diego. Ticket sales will open to the public on Friday, July 1 at 6 p.m. Ticket sales will close on Sunday, July 10 at 6 p.m. Online links to purchase will be posted to @pdfSanDiego social media accounts – $150 minimum donation/ticket purchase (each participant). T-shirts will be available for purchase at the event only. Adult and kid sizes are available for $25 long sleeve / $20 short sleeve.
How will it work? Purchase tickets online at the desired time. On event day, check in at purchased ticket time with name, printed ticket, event waiver, and fins for your required safety lecture.
Must be 18 years or older. Must wear swim fins. Must attend safety lecture. Must be a strong ocean swimmer; the ocean swim to the beach after your jump is between 500-1,000 yards. Waiver form required at check-in.
