Albion San Diego looks for back-to-back wins as they go up against Valley United FC on Saturday, April 23, at Canyon Crest Academy Stadium in their second head-to-head meeting between the two clubs.
Albion (1-1-0) is coming off an impressive 3-1 win over rival LA Force on April 10 while Valley United (2-0-2) played a scoreless draw against Chattanooga FC in its most recent match on April 15.
“Valley United FC is well-coached and has a good complement of experienced players with MLS and international minutes,” said Albion head coach Ziggy Korytoski. “It is easy to see why they are at the top of the west for the time being.”
The two teams last played each other on April 1 with Albion falling 2-1 on the road despite a late goal to make things interesting courtesy of Pablo Pelaez. A win for Albion would put them back in second place and only two points behind Valley United, which has played two more matches so far.
“Our boys are building confidence every day and every session,” Korytoski added. “We all look forward to the challenge on Saturday night.”
This will be the second of four regular-season matches the two teams play against each other with the next one coming on May 21 at Bell Bank Park in Mesa, Ariz. Their fourth and final regular-season matchup will be on June 24 at Canyon Crest Academy Stadium as the two teams look to make a run at the postseason and NISA west division title.
