After a nearly three-year COVID hiatus, one of San Diego’s most photographed “sea creatures” is back on display at Birch Aquarium at Scripps.
The popular Shark Head photo-op has not been seen at the aquarium since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, and has now been given new life. The aquarium’s exhibits team has repainted and repaired the 8-foot-tall display for another round of playful memory-making. The refurbished shark head is accompanied by a new mural.
Guests can stop by Shark Shores on their next visit and reunite with this larger-than-life shark. The aquarium encourages fans to snap a photo, share their favorite ones — old and new — and post them on social media using #ShareTheShark.
