San Diego Parceiro Ladies held an open tryout on Tuesday, May 11 at Merrill Douglas Stadium on the campus of Mesa College as 24 aspiring players took part with hopes of making the final roster for the regular-season opener on May 21 at Mission Bay High School Stadium.
“It was a group at a good level,” said Parceiro Ladies general manager Futa Seki.
The team has already announced the names of several players who will be making their first appearance in the WPSL this season and others who are returning such as midfielder Amber Huff as she plays her third season with the club.
“The quality is getting better and better every season and we are excited to start playing games,” Seki added.
The team will also have the return of Stephanie Beall, who coached them in 2019 and is the current head coach of the women’s soccer team at San Diego Miramar College.
Parceiro Ladies will play in the Southern California Conference Plymouth Division alongside Oceanside Dutch Lions FC, Breakaway SC, So Cal Union FC, and San Diego Strikers FC who won the division in 2021. Parceiro Ladies will play eight games this regular season, four of them at Madison High School.
