In anticipation of Vikings, Vines & Vintners — La Jolla High School’s major annual fundraiser — the La Jolla High School Foundation is hosting a pre-party event on Friday, Feb. 22 at Art Nest in Bird Rock. For an admission price of a premium bottle of wine (to be auctioned off at the main event in March), guests will enjoy an evening of appetizers and mingling from 6 to 9 p.m. Vikings, Vines & Vintners will take place March 23 at the La Jolla Country Club. Featuring wine tastings from more than a dozen wineries, the event has sold-out with 350 guests in past years. Many La Jolla businesses have generously donated items for the live and silent auctions to raise money for the high school. Money raised by the foundation covers many of the basics and extras the school district can no longer fund, from copy paper to the school nurse. With increasing concerns about campus security, the foundation hopes to raise funds for security cameras this year. Art Nest is located at 5648 La Jolla Blvd. Guests are asked to bring a premium bottle of wine ($75 value or greater) as a donation to be auctioned off at Vikings, Vines & Vintners on March 23. For advice on a wine donation, call Kay at Wine Time, (858) 551-7565. RSVP to the pre-party at [email protected]. For more information or for tickets to the March fundraiser, visit www.ljhs.sandi.net/foundation. For information about donation opportunities, call Alexe Page at (619) 840-8973 or email [email protected]. For underwriting opportunities, call Angela Rhodes at (858) 829-8636 or email [email protected].
