District 2 City Councilman Kevin Faulconer will analyze the state of his district and the City of San Diego on Wednesday, April 5, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Point Loma Library, 3701 Voltaire Street.
Faulconer plans to discuss the many issues facing him since taking office on Jan. 23, as well as the city’s financial situation.
“I will talk about city-wide issues, fiscal reform measures, but also specific neighborhood issues and concerns in terms of where we are,” he said. “I really want to focus on actions and realistic results that we can achieve in the neighborhoods.”
District 2 includes Pacific Beach, parts of La Jolla, Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, Point Loma, Midway, North Bay, Old Town, Mission Hills, Uptown/ Park West, Little Italy and downtown. The expressed concerns of District 2 are as diverse as its residents and neighborhoods “” from beach infrastructure to historical preservation to urban development and transportation.
“There are more issues happening on any one day in this district than I think in a lot of other areas,” Faulconer said.
There will not be a question and answer session, although Faulconer and his staff will stick around to mingle with the community. Mayor Jerry Sanders and other city council members have been invited.
“I’m really looking forward to sharing what’s been going on down here with the neighbors,” Faulconer added. “I intend to be very blunt with my assessment, very honest and very realistic.”
