A pair of local scholastic boys volleyball teams have gone after wins in recent weeks.
At The Bishop’s School, the Knights scored three wins last week to raise their season record to 4-1, 1-1 in Coastal League action.
Bishop’s opened the week with a win over Santa Fe Christian by scores of 19-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-22. Wheeler Hadden led Bishop’s with 16 kills, and Chandler Frost tallied 27 assists and four aces.
Junior Jeremy Koo, up from JV for his first match, contributed with solid serving and five aces.
A day later, Bishop’s defeated Patrick Henry 29-27, 25-9, 25-19. Hadden led the Knights with 11 kills and six aces, and libero Trevor Sinclair was excellent, being error-free in serve-receive and tallying 12 digs.
The Knights wrapped up the week by topping Coronado 25-17, 25-16, 25-10. Hadden led the way with 12 kills, but more important hit a very efficient .333 (kills-errors to total attacks). David Stotelmyre played a solid match in the middle with seven kills and three stuff blocks.
At La Jolla High, the Vikings will return from spring break next week and look to rebound from some recent losses.
In recent action, the Vikings fell to University City 19-25, 17-25, 27-25, 17-25; and to Francis Parker 25-20, 9-25, 18-25, 18-25.
In Eastern League play last week, University City High rolled to a 25-8, 25-14, 25-14 win over Mira Mesa.
