Is there another judge with connections living on Del Mar Avenue?
Two or three weeks ago, a sign reading “No left turn between 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays” was posted on Canon Street as it turns onto Del Mar. This is a two-block stretch of Del Mar between Canon and Chatsworth Boulevard. There is no sign prohibiting a right turn coming up Canon on to Del Mar at the same corner.
A few days ago, on Chatsworth turning onto Del Mar, a “No left turn between 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Mondays through Fridays” was posted. It seems they are targeting employees from the Naval base (Naval Base Point Loma) who are going to and from work. This is impacting Point Loma residents, i.e., the taxpayers, who can no longer take the most direct route to their destinations. In my case, shopping at Stump’s, going to the library, the Peninsula YMCA or visiting friends and relatives in Mission Beach and Pacific Beach now have been impacted. This is impacting many others, too.
In these times of high gas prices, it seems we are being forced to take a longer route. I only hope residents of other streets won’t have the clout to do the same thing as traffic is being rerouted because of the new restrictions.
