The La Jolla Community Planning Association (LJCPA) will vote on La Jolla’s list of priorities for the city’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) budget at its upcoming meeting on Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. This year, for the first time, the mayor’s office has invited the public to play an instrumental role in voicing opinions for the fiscal year 2014 CIP budget by naming what infrastructure repairs, upgrades and new construction should take precedence on the city’s CIP agenda. The LJCPA gathered input on La Jolla’s neighborhood priorities from trustees and members of the public at its previous meeting. A few of the preliminary recommendations included completion of the Torrey Pines Road corridor project, installation of streetlights along Fay Avenue, improvement of sidewalks alongside major roads and parks, and restoration of Scripps Park, among others. The LJCPA will vote on La Jolla’s priority project list at its Nov. 1 meeting at the La Jolla Recreation Center, located at 615 Prospect St. Members of the public are invited to attend and voice their opinions about what should be prioritized in the La Jolla community. For more information, visit www.lajollacpa.org/cip.htm. A full list of projects discussed at the LJCPA’s Oct. 4 meeting can be found at www.lajollacpa.org/agenda/ljcpa12_1101agenda.pdf
