CW6 (XETV) VP and general manager Chuck Dunning announced March 26 that Jon Brady will join CW6 News as news director starting April 25.
“The challenges for a local broadcast news operation have never been greater,” said Dunning. “Viewers, especially younger ones, have so many ways now to stay informed. Jon not only will bring a solid understanding of the current opportunities in local news, but the ability to utilize social and digital media to make it accessible wherever and whenever San Diegans want it.”
Brady is currently the executive producer for the KING 5 Morning News in Seattle, the No. 1 morning newscast. From 2010-2014 he was news director and director of content and news programming at KCPQ, the FOX affiliate in Seattle. Prior to that Brady worked for the FOX News Channel in Los Angeles from 1996-2010 starting as a field producer, rising to deputy bureau chief from 1999-2003, then to bureau chief from 2003-2010. “It’s not every day you get invited to come to a beautiful place to join a dedicated, talented team doing something you love, so when Chuck offered me this opportunity, it didn’t take a lot of convincing. I feel like I’ve hit the jackpot!” said Brady.
