Ceacilia ‘Ceal’ Munkelt, 92, longtime Point Loma resident

Ceacilia “Ceal” Munkelt was born March 27, 1915, in Mott, N.D., daughter of Agatha and Valentine Doll.
She passed away Feb. 16, 2008, in San Diego of natural causes at home at the age of 92.
Ceal lived in Mott from 1915 until 1943, then lived in Kingston, N.Y. from 1943 to 1970, and then became a Point Loma resident from 1970 through 2008.
In January 1943 she married Burton E. Shoemaker, who is deceased; they had a daughter, Lyn.
In June 1974 she married Glenn H. Munkelt Jr., who died July 2007. Ceal’s parents, brothers and sisters are also deceased. Ceal belonged to St. Agnes Parish.
She is survived by two daughters, Lyn of Orem, Utah, and Yvette of Ramona; and 2 great-granddaughters, Danielle and Faith of Ramona.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
Ceal loved ceramics, gardening, world travel, her morning orange juice and coffee.
Arrangements are being made through Beardsley Mitchell Funeral Home. Burial will be at Holy Cross. Details are pending.
