A woman stabbed with an icepick at the Westfield UTC shopping mall is suing the mall and Nordstrom department store, saying that people are being put in danger every time they park there. The woman, who told a local television outlet she had never seen her attacker before the December 2014 incident, said she’s still afraid for her life, as her attacker is at large. The woman had worked her closing shift at Nordstrom, calling security for an escort to her car and adding that no one answered. She said there are no lights in the area she had parked, adding that Nordstrom employees are required to park there. As she opened her car door, she explained, a second vehicle approached, blocking her in. A woman emerged from the second vehicle and pushed the victim over a planter, then produced an icepick and stabbed her in the leg. A fellow employee who witnessed the incident ran the attacker off. The woman is suing the mall and Nordstrom’s for $25,000 and safer conditions for employees. — 10 News
