O’dea named Playhouse finance director
Steven B. Libman, managing director of La Jolla Playhouse, has announced the appointment of John T. O’dea to the position of director of finance.
“I am thrilled to have John join the La Jolla Playhouse team,” Libman said. “He brings a high level of accounting and auditing experience as a well as a positive attitude that embraces change and new ideas. This skill set made him the ideal candidate for the director of finance position.”
O’dea, who took the position after the former director of finance left the Playhouse in June, is an active CPA with more than 16 years of financial and management experience. He received a bachelor’s degree of arts and economics from UCLA. His past credits include senior accountant for Price Waterhouse and he has worked closely with high-tech companies as a controller.
O’dea is a native New Yorker who moved to La Jolla when he was young and has lived here ever since. He is involved in a local UCLA club and enjoys playing tennis.
